1. FOOTWEAR COMPONENTS

● Oeko-Tex dye

A standard for ensuring the human-ecological safety of textile products from all stages of production, confirming they are completely free from harmful chemicals and safe for human use from the thread to the end product.

● GOTS organic cotton

With half the eco-impact of standard crops, organic cotton uses up 91% less fresh water. We use Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified Organic Cotton which is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment; helping to keep workers, water and soil safe from toxic pesticides. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility.

● Tencel

A cellulose fibre acquired from sustainable wood sources by environmentally responsible processes, the fibres offer natural comfort and biodegradability

● Heavy GOTS Cord

Corduroy is a textile with a distinct pattern, a "cord" or wale. Our Corduroy is 100% GOTS certified cotton, its thick Wale is flicked with 100% naturally dyed Hues. This guy is unique!

● Recycled natural rubber outsole

GOOD NEWS soles are made using recycled rubber pellets ground down from car tyres and old rubber shoes. The outsole can then be recycled with no decline in surface texture or the quality of rubber. Benefits: It is completely non-toxic made to endure with a soft comfortable texture for maximum comfort. Reclaimed rubber can be used as a running track or playground surfacing product.

● Castor oil ECO 20 foam insole

An environmentally friendly bio-oil formulation; caster bean oil is combined with recycled rubber in the light Airfoam ECO 20 insoles.

● Dye Chemicals

We use Bluesign-certifed chemicals for dying our materials to ensure that no hazardous chemicals are used in our manufacturing process. This not only helps to make production as safe as possible for our workers but reduces our water usage and helps with pollution control, ensuring that our factory functions more efficiently.

● Hemp

The introduction of hemp to our canvas uppers offers another low-impact option which is breathable, antibacterial and biodegradable.

● Wool and Lyocell

With all-natural biodegradable fibres, these break down naturally to harmless compounds rather than accumulate in the environment. Matching the desirable properties of Hemp, these materials too are breathable, antibacterial and biodegradable.

ZQ-certified merino offers high standards of animal welfare and land management, and the eucalyptus-derived Lyocell from South Africa is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and uses 95% less water since it relies on rainwater rather than irrigation.

 

2. PACKAGING

● ORGANIC COTTON DUST BAGS

GOTS Certified organic cotton dust bags will keep your product protected from sun exposure, excess moisture, and dust. They can also be used to wipe down a your sneakers keeping them looking FRESH!

● RECYCLED & RECYCLABLE PACKAGING

Our packaging is entirely made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials; from the outer box to the protective tissue and structural filler, these are biodegradable and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. We encourage you to keep this in mind and recycle wherever possible, because every box deserves a second chance.

● BIODEGRADABLE MAILING BAG

Our fully biodegradable mailing bag is made from natural resin and is ‘OK Compost!’ certified. It will protect your package from the elements!
