Shelter's Winter Campaign
Good News are committed to giving back one step at a time. This year we have teamed up with Shelter, a charity close to our hearts and on our doorstep. For every pair we sell, we will give one pair to sell in Shelter's stores, raising money for the Shelter winter campaign.
Shelter has just launched their Winter Campaign focusing on the plight of homeless children this Christmas, living in unsuitable and unsafe temporary accommodation. Here’s a link to their campaign video:
There are over 120,000 children in the UK that will wake up on Christmas Day in temporary accommodation this year. Families will be sleeping on sofas, in badly converted office blocks and cramped B&Bs, with no secure place to call home. People will be sleeping in freezing cars, damp tents and dirty doorways. Shelter's message is clear: this is not a home. The housing emergency is putting families, children and individuals in impossible situations this winter. That’s why Shelter's appeal emphasises the importance of having a safe, permanent place to call home.
